Aidan Lambe

Aidan joined Chartered Accountants Ireland in January 1996, originally as an inspector with the Institute’s monitoring unit. Currently Director, Professional Standards, (since October 2015). Prior to that was Technical Director of the Institute (10 plus years), having been Deputy Director of Professional Standards from 2000.

During his career with the Institute, has been involved in numerous external committees and working parties including:

  • Alternate member of Ireland’s Company Law Review Group
  • Technical Advisor to Ireland’s Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation on the EU Commission’s Accounting Regulatory Committee and Audit Regulatory Committee
  • Irish Observer at FRC’s Audit & Assurance Committee
  • Technical Advisor at FEE Council and member of Accountancy Europe working group on the EU Audit Regulation & Directive
  • Institute representative at Accountancy Europe Members’ Assembly
  • Technical advisor to Institute representative on IFAC Professional Accountants in Business Committee
  • Previously Institute representative on CCAB European Issues Task Force (EITF) and International Issues Task Force (IITF)
  • Member of various Institute working parties/initiatives over the years considering for example, auditor liability reform, EU Green Paper on Auditing, Future of Audit
